I'm a little confused by this statement:

I think you're saying to position your "height gauges" (which I use also)
BESIDE the frame rather than UNDER it while adjusting the torsion bars.
That technique would prevent the chassis from resting on the 4x4's and
biasing the torsion bar adjustments. I'm not sure everyone following your
instructions would understand that. Nor am I sure that's what you mean. :-)

Just installed the new torsion bars. Holy crap, what a height difference.
They are marked L and R, but no indication of front or back. Seems like it should matter, but when I called the company, Brian said it does not matter, most install the letter (L/R) side to the rear so you can see them.
That's what we did, FYI.

I just installed mine, in about an hour...after you use the tension tool to relieve the adjusters, smack the pork chop with hammer to free any corrosion, remove the 4 bolts on the yoke and if you still have the muffler mount, that too. Slide it back (yoke) about 3" torsion bars basically fall out...the angle of the TB with the yoke in place makes it very difficult to remove. grease new ones and slide into the lower control arms, align your yoke with porkchops , slide it forward. Tighten everything, tension TB using tool only, install adjuster plate and bolts. You know the rest.

I trust once the crossmember was back in place you verified the torsion bars were fully engaged in the pork chop and hard up against
the rear part of the crossmember by looking in the hole through the crossmember?

Good point, although I failed to mention it, the TBs fully protrude the pork chop...thanks for checking....I'm still a little low in front after 2 test drives, ran out of daylight. Have about an inch left on stock length bolts. May need to try another flat.
