Here's something that I found concerning Goodyear G159 tires. It may or may not be true and may be an attorney looking for a big dollar, class action case. http://www.lawyersandsettlements.com/features/defective-products/unsafe-tires.html

When I was at the New Hampshire GMCMI rally in 1996 or 1997 or thereabouts,
the talk was that God Himself had selected the G-159 as the tire of choice
for the GMC.
When I got my Alcoas shortly after I got home, I installed the
G-159's....seemed a no brain-er!

It wasn't long before I realized that talk is cheap and that experts can in
fact, be full of dog excrement . The belts started breaking and the tires
didn't wear well either. In a attempt to keep all tires the same on the
GMC, I replaced and replaced the 159's with more 159s.

Eventually I gave up and installed Michelins and have been using them
since. However the price has become a case of what the market will bear as
apposed to a reasonable selling price...I am now looking for something else.

So i get a little long winded! <g> The point, avoid G-159's

Mike,

I've been using Bridgestones for 11 years with no problems.
Of course I'm hardly an expert. ...just figure I don't go cheap on
tires or any other parts.

Mike,

Nah, I think that who ever the "experts" were, didn't follow thru with their homework. It's one thing to do what you want with your own property, but to pose as an expert and not check the tire rating or manufacture's intended use.

My feeling is that you were "spot on" (as Rob would say).

Ken--I tipped you off for a reason. I can't talk about how I know Smile but I'm sure you will figure it out.
