So...
Got the "Parts Coach" home today.... Only mishap is the previous owner replaced half of the drivers side window above the couch area with plexiglass... ? and it blew out...LOL
Other than that no troubles... Even with bad tires and bad air bags she made it home...
I will try to get her to run this weekend... And make a list of parts to take off..
May eventually have a take the whole thing or nothing sale when Im done..

There are lot of body parts that can be harvested if done carefully.
Hope your able to accomplish it and make them available.
It is lot of work, but worth it as most body parts are no longer made.
If there is any thing we can advise you with , feel free to call me.

Had a chance to mess with the "Parts Coach" put a battery in it had to pour a bit of gas in the carb... But it fired off and ran for as long as I wanted to risk it!!
And it goes in forward and reverse too...
Once the weather clears on Sunday around here, Im going to remove the batteries in the generator compartment and see what happens!!

Took out the dead house battery and swapped in a charged 12 volt to see if the Onan would start....
NADA... LOL but water pump ran and started pumping water out the tank fill near the generator...LOL Wonder what's up with that?
Oh well I knew my luck couldn't last forever...
I have to buy a control board and carb for the original coach anyway. So once I have those, Ill bring in the "Onan Expert" to put those on and get that job done. Then while he is here he can take a look at the Onan in "the parts coach"....
Im hoping that I will end up with two good Onan's when all is said and done...

Mickey, the control board fuse has no idea what is going on at the hich voltage side of the machine. However, what you say about load-AC, hot water heater, etc is good advice.

Nope.
The fuse is on the 12v side and protect the power into the board itself and output to the coil and fuel pump.
The item that "blows" when shutting off the Onan with the A/C or water heater on is the rectifier (or diode bridge.) This item is inside the "bell" under the plastic grates in the "back" of the unit. I install a heaver duty version of this bridge as I have had them "blow" from when the generator "stumbles" with the AC running.

"any time an onan will not start pull it out, take the black trigger plate off with the little nuts on each side middle of the cover
then spread the wires softly apart at the middle and you will see a glass tube fuse 5 amp 32 volt that was the only thing wrong with mine"
Im actually not sure about what cover he is describing?

I believe he is referring to the fuse you see near the bottom behind the two dark wires -- to the right of the terminal 5.

that is the fuse yes but my board has wires hanging in front of it, this may be older or for 4k, but it is the same glass tube fuse,
5amp for 32 volts is what the store stated when they looked it up in the book. i have 10 of them now for about .50 cents.
5 and 9 will not work with out that fuse. it is all motor for the back end that is 110 volt. i thought the onan would be a lot louder than it is. From inside it is not so bad for vibrations as well. i love it. just like home with that running inside with the a/c great.

what would blow this fuse? F1 on the board.
has anyone found out any experienced reasons? scientifically ?

Mickey, that fuse will blow if there's a problem with any of the wiring, relays, etc that control the start and run functions of the engine. Problems with the remote switch can also blow that fuse. If the engine starts, then it is not the fuse. It has no effect on the generating part of the Onan.

Upon further inspection in the daylight... The entire control board and cover/switch is missing!!! The wires are just hanging there...LOL
So now it begs the question, can I bypass the control board somehow and see if it will run? 
I am not going to part out this coach for quite a while...
I still am wondering if I can make a car hauler out of it? LOL

Yes. You can bypass the entire board and all of it's problems. You will then run it without low oil protection. If Gene doesn't have this on his website, he should. Jim Bounds also had a post a few years ago on how to do this.
