Rob,
During all of your research, did you find out why balancing beads are not
recommended for passenger car tires? I recently sent that question to
Counteract, but got no response. I'm left to believe it's because of the
"fall-out" problem during frequent start-stop driving.
Incidentally, for those who wonder about the basis for the use of beads, I
clearly remember the professor in a Dynamics class spending an entire
session on automotive wheel balancing. While I can no longer even pretend
to duplicate the lecture or describe it in detail, I do remember that there
IS a mathematically described basis for the effectiveness of beads.

DynaBeads are recommended for car, motorcycle, truck tires. They are not for use in race vehicles due to the rapid and violent changes in g forces. The'fall-out' you mention has not been a problem with my motorcycle. Just so you will know...I've seen 145 on the bike more than once with no balance problems anywhere in the run.

And I tried counteract in one of my cars tires and found it was more of an
irritant than a solution. Stop and go driving does not work well with
balancing beads. I found my tires spent more time out of balance than in
balance. On the longer highway trips they would eventually smooth out.
I also blame some of the problem on a sloppy installer who
just slobbered the tire lube on the bead with a fair amount being slung
into the tire. This caused the beads to stick together as I found some
lumpy beads when I pulled and cleaned the insides in prep for a regular
balancing.
As the saying goes: the job is only as good as the person who did it.

Ken,
I really didn't do a lot of research into this my goal was to compose an email that had all the sources of products manufactured
specifically to balance tires in one spot for easy future reference.
I realize that a lot of people have used plastic BB's from Wal-Mart and they work well too.
What you note about fall out makes sense, as I stated earlier I have noticed a bit of vibration until Double Trouble gets up to
speed and I reckon the manufacturers would have to deal with a lot of customer complaints about vibrating tires in stop and go
traffic. Hence they don't recommend it.
