Any one along I-5 corridor from Grant's Pass, Ore. to Chico, Ca. have a bearing tool to lend or rent.
Currently in Grant's Pass- leaving shortly for Red Bluff, Ca. Can pick up and return within a week.

We're fine. Thanks for checking.
Just trying to locate a tool so I can service that bearing sooner rather than later.
An ounce of prevention etc. etc.

Thanks.
The Blacklist shows three bearing pullers between Sacramento and Folsom, and one about 20 miles East of Eugene, OR.

A bit north, (Portland area) but I have one. It could be left in my coach in Red Bluff rather than being returned all the way back here.

Note that I haven't ever USED it, so I couldn't guarantee it is completely complete. Rolling Eyes

Thanks Mike,
I should have posted my request earlier- I was next to you in Beaverton for 2 days. That would have worked out.

Any plan/schedule yet for rescuing your coach in Red Bluff? I'd like to help if I'm home.

Mark,
Thanks for the Black List suggestion. Sacramento is beyond/off my usual route. But I'll look that direction is I don't come up with a puller closer.

I bought my bearing puller back in about '99. It was the version 1.0 from Tom Warner. I also bought the puller for the puller and adapters from TZE. So far I've never used it and probably never will. In that time I had Buskirk do my bearings and two years ago I had my knuckles rebuit by Dave Lenzi including zerc fittings. That should provide for a for a longer service life than the 25,000-30,000 miles that is usually recommend for bearing R&R service.

I used to carry my puller etc. in my GMC thinking I might need to use it while on the road. Never used it once in the past 15 years. Now it sits in my GMC parts warehouse in the attic of my house.

I wonder how many other GMCers also have an unused bearing puller.

MANY!! or at least quite a few.
But that's a good thing. Gary Bovee contacted me and he has the proper tool right here in Red Bluff. Now if I can get a bearing set and seals locally (just in case) I'm good to go. Thanks to the GMC net.
