Ok new here but wanted to see if any one could answer a question about my rear bogie. Is the production date stamped on the top surface of the center part that is mounted to the frame? Mine has the #'s 721332 (I'm guessing part no.)and 22 06 78 M (again guessing to be the day, month, year and ?). I do find it iteresting seeing that I have no record of replacement from previous owners and that my MH is of the '74 vintage.

John,

Parts book shows part number 721332 effective with serial number 4V101024 -- what serial number is your coach?

So your coach would have 1 1/2 inch bogie pins -- a good thing.

I have no info on the 22 06 78 numbers ---

those numbers on top are likely casting numbers that are used by the foundry to keep track of castings that come from certain molds or sand casting boxes. That couldn't be a 1978 date as your motorhome was produced a long time before that and I believe that by that time in 1978 most of the GMC production was stopped.

True I have an earlier MH but just thought that they might had been replaced sometime in its life.
How do I tell what size pins I have?
My GMC serial number is 4V100709. If it is a casting no. wouldn't that also help tell what year it was from?
Thanks for the help.

As posted before, if you have casting part number 721332, the Parts book shows part number 721332 effective with serial number 4V101024. But we have learned before that the exact cut-off might not be correct. Anyway, bogie box 721332 had 1 1/2 inch pins. So, your's may have been changed --- or, the cutoff number in the parts book is incorrect.

If you don't have a parts book -- go to bdub's site ...

http://bdub.net/manuals/index.html

The bogie and such are in section 14.

Hopefully this is more clear and helpful.
