- does boost work?
- what is boost
- how to charge engine battery
- is an ext charger needed
-
brought the magic tester for cig. lighter
http://gmc49ers.blogspot.com/

1/2 hour later
- engine batt ok
- air pump works
- blocks in place
(looks good:>)
- boost works ( is momentary,)
- will not charge engine battery
- put on a KenB combiner ( jumper wire across boost sw:>)
- all batts charging on house charger (prob buzz box)-

- high charge rate
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/buzz-box-converter-problems-and-replacement/p17533.html

- alternator working

warned owner about buzz box
- will boil batts
- unplug gmc after a couple of days
- plug in once per month
- remove jumper when not plugged in
-

Now we just need a Sarah McLachlan voice-over commercial and we can start raising money for these sad lonely "sitting in a field" things.

Within a month or two the owner will cease the routine of plugging in for a couple of days a month and then unplugging. Hopefully he will forget when unplugged rather than plugged.

At least with the blocks it won't sit on the ground and rust the frame.

Excellent report. Hopefully this one will make it back on the road for some
fun. When I had the buzz box on my PB and I had it plugged into shorepower
for any length of time, I had it connected through a timer for an hour or
so per day. Kept the batteries up just fine.

To quote a guy that contributes a lot to the GMC preservation "movement."

LINK?

By that I mean how about a link to a timer that will handle the amps the buzz box pulls for the electrically challenged.
