I like to better understand the differences between the "stock" Olds Toronado and the "stock" GMC MH front suspension.
The one that sticks out and that I do know about is the hub.
A 5 lug to 8 lug. However, I do not know what or if that hub was used for - other than the GMC MH.
What else is differnet on the "Stock" front suspension and was it used on any other vehicle?
Thanks, Tony
Tony (Ontario Canada) Marie and I are blessed to have had a 2nd chance to buy our farm. Still hoping and more importantly praying to be able to build a garage. Our 1970 Ultravan #520 has an Olds Toronado 455 in back.

The hub of course is different as is the rotor. The knuckle has a different size lower ball joint and related taper. Since the width of the front clip is different, anything to do with that is different.

Lets see:
The inner CV would have to be for the Toronado trans.
The axle can be custom and the outer CV has to mate/fit the hub they used.
But I'm not sure what GMC truck in the 70's had a FWD hub much less axles with CV joints?
I can picture how they can use the truck rotors and calipers but not a hub, bearings or front axles. But then again I do not know every type of truck on the road.

You're going down the wrong path. There are no truck parts in the mix--front or rear. The rear brakes and bearings are B car wagon parts and the front are modified E car (Toronado/Eldo). Trucks had solid front axles with conventional U-joints.
