Chris,

It was only after I answered that I noticed the low message count.

You have already answered most of the questions we ask of new people, but:
When and Where did you get your coach?
Could you tell us what lead you to buy this coach?
(This works out to be a help to those that have to sell.)

And yes, (for those that didn't catch it) I did get right and left mixed (not uncommon for me) in the seat belt advice, but the port and starboard were correct.

In the case that you didn't get the word, there is an International Rally (GMCMI) in Montgomery (Lake Conroe) that starts on the 21st. If you can't get there with your coach, just get there. You will be welcomed. You were learn more in the first hour than you might in the next couple of months.

Now, as you have already discovered, you are now part of a group/family/cult/asylum that will provide some amazing support. I am from watermen, and life that way is very much like here, except we would see each other more or less regularly (with the tide). For this reason, I like to welcome new members much as a new owner or vessel would be welcomed at home. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Chris.

Hope to shake your hand in Montgomery.

Matt

Matt,

Thanks a bunch for the welcome!

I'm really excited to finally have a GMC. I bought the 1973 Sequoia from
Georgene Farril in Richland Hills, TX. Her husband spent a lot of time on
the mechanicals and it seems to be in really good shape. I wanted a coach
that was road ready from the start. I've been looking for a GMC for about 9
months and hadn't found any that really "spoke" to me until this particular
coach. I was set to travel to North Carolina to look at a 23' that was for
sale and the seller suggested I contact Billy Massey to see if he knew of
any a little closer to home before I made the trip to N.C. Billy helped put
me in touch with Georgene. I bought it from her a week ago tomorrow.

I pulled out of her drive with the coach, made it a block and the GMC ended
up dying, blocking traffic for about 30 minutes at a very busy
intersection. Turned out it was just a loose battery cable! It's been
running like a champ since I tightened up the cable.

We have 4 small children (plus two dogs) and I think this will be a really
good way for us to travel. Montgomery is going to be a challenge to make,
but I will certainly try to make a future rally.

-Chris
