This is probably old news to you guys. "Killer RV Upgrades" on Travel HD was on tonight and featured Jim Bounds at GMC Coop in one of its segments.

According to the show, Jim argues with his help and drag races "classic RV's" once a year. Even though all of the other segments went into depth about the RV's featured, no word on what kind of RV Jim drives or works on...

A lot of good b-roll of GMCs and a short backstory on Jims first RV with video - whatever brand it was...

Classic example of what is wrong with TV these days.

</Rant>

76 Birchaven - "Wicked Mistress" - New engine, trans, alum radiator, brakes, Sully airbags, fuel lines, seats, adult beverage center... those Coachmen guys were really thinking about us second hand owners by including that beverage center... Columbia, SC.

Joe,

Yeah, I saw it again last night. The motorhome that was passed off as Jim's first was not "THE DUMPSTER", it was a GMC that Jim had custom bilt for a customer just as the show was being shot.
The "employee" was not one of his better guys working at the shop (and left just after the shoot). Not much of reality except the work showcased was his work and concepts. We do drag race them (and hint: he has been beaten). ...and we will do it again this year tomorrow night at the "ORLANDO SPEED WORLD". This year I will not let him set my timing.

I wish they had taken the time to show what work really is done and how. Sometimes reality is better that fiction.

I hope Jim will jump in here.....

Anyone has a source of that episode somewhere?

Yeah, I figured. The drag racing part was cool. But, not much substance on the hardware. And the "dumpster" gmc In the shoot was an obvious one-off custom, but no details.

Joe,

All the producers and director were interested in was the unusual RVs and their uses.
The drag racing was/is real, but getting down into the technical stuff would not have held the interest of the mass viewers for too long. The shows want drama and conflict.

Nice. Now, what is the story on that custom? Birchaven, wider track, stretched wheelbase, single rear axle located where the generator was...Heluva lot of changes there.

Thanks a bunch. Interesting vid, even though I had hoped for a longer
snippet.
