Today I started installing my Springfield overhauled carburetor and running new hoses. What do we do these days about vacuum to the distributor? Also is there any change to the distributor vacuum module?
Thanks for any comments.

Dick Patterson operates as Springfield Ignition. Best carb you can get. Distributors and Ignition wires also. Unpaid endorsement, just another happy customer.

Jim,

The consensus seems to be to run the distributor vacuum advance to ported vacuum on the carb. IIRC, there is a vacuum port on the carburetor body about halfway up on the left (driver's) side. Most have bypassed the TVS as well.

Yes, I think Dick wants ported vac (timed) signal to the distributor but you can confirm with him for that distributor.

Def ported vacuum. If you have full vac at idle you will have way too much advance at idle and will likely stall esp when cold.
One of the issues I have with many aftermarket carbs for street use is the lack of ported vacuum.
