So I got the testset from Blackstone
You might wonder why I would send my oil to the US to be tested
Well Nobody in Denmark would just even look at the oil for 25 Usd My guess for a test would be at least 150 usd and possiblely a lot more ( ask Espen what it is in Norway!)

Blackstone includes postage to Denmark in these 24 usd
The parcel came with UPS and Blackstone advices to send it return by UPS as that would be much faster then postal services
UPS wants160 USD to send my oil back to IN

Luckely Danish post wanted 10 USD

There are a lot of good things about living in Denmark, but it is expensive

Appie,

Your oil sample may not make it to Blackstone:

I have found UPS to be extremely expensive on International stuff and just as unreliable as they are in US domestic shipments. I have shipped several things to Europe but never in the reverse direction. UPS lost a 2nd or 3rd day delivery package to me in Nice, France. After a lot of telephone calls over several days (I do not speak French and most Frenchmen will not admit that they understand English unless they need something), I found the package sitting in Lyon, France. Their standard answer is you are not the shipper. The shipper must contact us. In my case IBM shipped it in my name from the US to my name in France. So when I called I could tell them I was both the shipper and the receiver. That confused the hell out of them when they tried to use that excuse, but they could not blow me off.

USPS (Post Office) is my preferred international shipping method.

Regarding the price of checking the oil here in Norway, I think it would be cheaper to take the engine out.. Nuff said Smile

Rob,
Are you saying that what Blackstones are supplying in a letter suggesting that USPS will ship will not work.

http://www.blackstone-labs.com/postal-letter.php

I wonder what it would cost to have a sample sent from Australia to Blackstones, plenty I bet.

No,

I logged into the USPS website and searched for banned items.

I wasn't aware of the Blackstone letter.

I use Blackstone for my GMC, and my Jacobs L-6, and Lycoming IO-320's.....I go to Office Depot with their mailing setup and always got it sent. Never had to pull the Blackstone letter out of the holster. (on edit...that is by UPS)
