Finally, snow is melting. Teri is lining up my doc appointments for next week so we can head to Texas. Only one appointment left to get set.
Not sure if anyone was interested in the front led turn signals or not. I was able to get information from one of the guys at classicindustries.com. He gave me measurements. 2 3/4 x 6" is the 67-8 Chevy pickup light measurement. That is the lense. I went out and that is what mine measure. Mine are not originals so you need to measure yours if interested. Part # CP676801 price. 39.99 each. A clear one is part # CP676802. Have not yet been able to figure out the shipping.
LMC has the same one. Price is same. Ship for two is almost 20 bux.
Just passing this along. I will probably buy a set later on. Can't do it right now. Let me know if you go with this. Maybe one of our vendors can get them. Applied has the ones with bulbs. I have found LEDs to be great upgrades when mounted on PC boards. Just buying a replacement led plug in is a waste of money.

What about the assembly the front turn signal bulb plugs in to. Ours are kind of shot in that the socket is corroded and the spring mechanism that the bulb goes in to won't hold the bulb tight. Any one know what fits as a replacement?

What is the heartburn with the plug-in 1157 / 1167 replacement bulbs? Aren't they still brighter than the original incandescent bulbs? I am thinking about doing the "plug and play" as simple and relatively inexpensive.

Steve, light output from an LED is very directional. Generally an angle of 120 degrees is pretty wide. Filament bulbs are pretty much omnidirectional.
Most of the replacement led bulbs simulate omnidirectional light pattern, this design wastes or poorly aims the light output of the LEDs used to assemble the bulb.
For the front turn indicators, you really need a flat led design that points forward towards the desired light pattern. These could be easily assembled, LEDs are readily available. Just need to produce a circuit board.
A similar design to the HF LED taillights would do the job.

Thanks Dan and Tom, I will look a bit farther for the front turns. I've built some truck LED units into the tail light housings for the back - still need to do something for the back-ups.
Sorry we won't make TX. Coach comes out of storage on the 22nd and I've got an electrical gremlin to find. In dash oil pressure and water temp gauges both move with key on but sender wires are disconnected and taped off. This is still follow on to the voltage regulator failure and alternator overrun to 18 or 20 (?) volts last Fall. We had the APC in place but still smoked the engine battery and some light bulbs.
Guess I've got to take the top off the dash and look for melted wires.

Steve, would you consider coming on down in your car? I will truly miss the smile on your lovely bride's face. Oh, I will miss you also. There are cabins on property, with kitchens. Also, motels close by. Use this time to sight see down and on your way home. With price of fuel bet there won't be much difference in travel and motels. You would not have to stay for the entire convention. I want to hear about your winter, first hand, maybe see some pictures. I know it was a rough one.
I am thinking about buying a set of the HF type 6 inch amber, park/ lights. Want to see if I can trim the board on each end to fit under our amber cover and discard the one that comes with light. Just a thought.

Dan, great idea and we checked on changing the date to get the coach out of storage, but it has to be 3/22. That would put us on the road on 3/24 & 25 ( about 1100 miles)so we would got to TX in time for the last dish of ice cream and the big raffle. We'll look forward to seeing you in WI.

Hi Ken,
We store at the local fair ground where we can get into the commercial building. They normally allow two days to put units in in November and two days to get them out in March. However, due to the heavy snows and lack of snow removal, the March 15 date didn't happen. We tried to get out early but they won't move other vehicles for us. So, yeh, I guess it's a time lock.

Dan--I used to sell these and I found that they are not interchangeable with any C-K truck. They are from medium duty trucks and were commonly used on P chassis for motorhome use. They were still used in recent times and were usually thrown away when the chassis was converted to motorhomes. I bought a 55 gal drum of them in Elkhart. However, since Workhorse shut down, I'm not aware of any more P chassis conversions. You may have the corrct ones, but measure closely since they are almost identical.

I just picked up a pair of LED parking lights that I think are the same as the ones you're looking at, though the numbers are different.
They're United Pacific CPL6768A, $36.95/ea, $10 shipping for the pair, and an exact size replacement for the OEM GMC parking light . I bought them at a place here in Las Vegas.

The overvoltage can be caused by a bad connection in the feedback wire to the regulator. If this has high resistance the regulator thinks the system voltage is low and raises the alternator voltage.
Could also be a bad regulator.
I had this high voltage problem on a GM minivan. Dealer couldn't fix it after $2000 of work.
I found it and they refunded my money!

In checking on these part numbers from Classic Industries this are for the lens and impeded LED light assembly and not just for the lens itself.
