part book say's 78 brake master cylinder is a different # from 73-77 is that true, and what would the correct napa number be thanks dan

Dan,
Hmmmmmm, that's what the Parts Book 78Z notes, I carefully read ALL the parts below the complete assemblies and the it appears that
Key 8 - Piston - secondary was the part that changed and since the part it replaced is not listed it is superseded which means GM
didn't want you to use it! ;-)
The Napa P/N is P2085.
