Some of you may have heard that Bob had his gall bladder removed a couple of weeks ago. However, they found that he had more serious problems. His gall bladder showed signs of cancer and they did Cat scans and found that he has a tumor in that area which cannot be operated on. So they will be starting chemo therapy on Jan. 22.
Here is an email message I received from him. Bob just asks that you do not telephone him as Marlys is very busy with her "nursing" duties. He will be checking his email periodically though.

Bob has been an avid GMCMI convention goer but the Montgomery, TX is in the middle of his chemo treatments. He says that if he feels up to it they might drive down to Texas in a car but that is a long trip for he and Marlys so they might not make that one. The fall rally convention in Wisconsin is going to be close to him so we'll all look forward to seeing him at that one.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob and Marlys.

> Just to keep you updated on what is going on with my health. Went to the doctors yesterday for a post surgery visit. Upon reviewing all the options, as the surgeon was limited to what he could do with the large incision, because the tumor growth is entwined around the many liver bile ducts and was not removable.
> Dr Huber, the oncologist, is quite aggressive and had a plan all worked out for me. They will put a ‘power port’ in a main vein on Jan 8th, and I will start chemo on Jan 22nd. One chem once a week, repeat the next week, then skip a week. This is called 1 cycle. There will be four cycles of treatment, and then they will do a CT scan and see if the growth is shrinking.

Oh me, I really hate to hear this. Will email him.
Thanks for letting us know.
Bob has same caliber nurse as I do. Can't see how anyone could make it without help from a great spouse.
Dan
