Got a 2" airfilter would it give any problem when I replace the 3" with it?
Reason is the original is all cutup by PO

Not sure I completely follow your question. If you are talking about the height of the air cleaner, you need to stay with the stock height. Otherwise the air cleaner lid will not seal against the filter.

If the GMC had more clearance you could go taller bot not shorter.
