Today I received, for what reason I don't know, issue #49 of Doc
Frohmader's WebRodder Newsletter. This issue was mostly about his recent
web support problems and health challenges, but was nonetheless
interesting, even if not "politically correct". Best of all, it gave me
the link to http://webrodder.com/ where I found a lot of interesting
articles which might interest some of you. There's a place to sign up for
the newsletter too.

Doc has allowed me (gmceast.com) to post information specific to the GMC
motorhome here.

http://www.gmceast.com/technical/technical/gmc_webrodder.html

He also wrote two technical articles where were published in newsletters
in 2011 and 2012, I believe.

Sorry to hear he's had health challenges.

For sure, what Frohmader writes is tested and supportable across a variety
of situations.

Byron,

I'd forgotten those articles you posted. But when I found them at
webrodder.com, I knew they seemed familiar.

I was so impressed with the newsletter that I wrote Doc an email and got an
immediate response. Turns out, he's been living in his GMC for the past 5
years!

Without knowing whether he's ever visited, I sent him links to GMCNet and
the Forum.

This is interesting...
http://webrodder.com/product/219. I wonder what speedo you'd use this with. Easy install...

The writeup says any 8 or 16 pulse (8000 or 16000 pulses per mile)
electronic speedometer. In other words, it's a GPS activated VSS.

Pretty slick idea.

This may be a little off topic, or maybe not.

When I'm driving the 'Red Thing', I always have a Garmin on my windshield
and I read my speed from it and not the speedo since it is calibrated well
out of range of normal driving speeds. The speedo makes knowing my speed in
'generalities' as opposed to being exact.

So, if I want to drive at a non light flashing speed of 7 over with no fear
of yet another court appearance, is the speed displayed on my Garmin
accurate??
I have assumed it is deadly accurate but thought I'd better check.

Thanks

Mike in NS

Mike,

I have been using GARMIN's for the last 6-7 years and find them spot on target (at least the speedo). I got the new RV 760LMT for Xmas which I've been impressed with and can't wait to try it out in the GMC.

Thanks Jim

I had thought that, but wasn't sure.
Of course I've never received a ticket I didn't deserve, and have been 'let
off' more than my fair share .
