I would carefully inspect the rest to make sure there isn't something worse you haven't found yet and if so fabricate a patch and weld it up. You have nothing to lose. You cannot possibly make it worse unless you do not know how to weld. After your structural repairs are done clean out and cavity wax the insides of the clip best you can.

you're welcome Mac. Yes, it's a Northern coach. I'm the 4th owner. Chicago, IL, Runnells, IA, Laurens, IA and now Bondurant, IA. The first owner took it to Texas frequently from what I can tell from records and stickers. He also put 97K of the almost 103K currently on the coach. The next two owners did not drive it much, but it evidently sat outside a majority of the time. Interior is perfect, motor runs like a top, but the exterior is baked...and now a rusty frame. The project continues!
