I am looking at the calendar and the map trying to plan what may be my first trip in the GMG. I am thinking about a short trip during the Holidays to Seneca NY to see my favorite rock band, Cheap Trick. Been a fan since the 70's.

Here is the GMC History. It is well documented that Cheap Trick toured during the mid 1970's in GMC MH. In an effort to build their image and success they felt it important to be seen on tour sporting nothing but the best equipment. That included the GMC MH and a Cadillac Eldorado (front wheel drive).

I don't know if this ownership would show up in the GMC registry or history anywhere. It may have been technically owned by a corporate entity, possibly CPNZ Inc. If you happen to own the "Cheap Trick" coach it could be worth thousands of dollars, probably $6 to $10 thousand. If you have it, I would like to buy it.

In the late 70s I worked for Tantrum in Chicago and we toured the same circuit as CT. I got a 76 EII for our band group of 7 to tour in. Was a 'new' trade in at Benharts GMC in St Charles. I did all the PM stuff on the 76 when we got down time. It was the left side swivel chair floor plan. Only work with CT a few times during my career as a live engineer. Lots of paths cross and did monitors for them at Chicago fest and FOH at Day on the Green on the west coast. The Upstaging guys were tighter with them and a freind there bought a Royalle a few years back as a track base for racing. Don't have the TZE or whereabouts of the 76 but when I got the 77 it was a trip back in time. I did take the 76 on a ski trip once, so not to quell your winter driving of a GMC but it can be difficult and frustratingly easy to get stuck. Hope you have good vehicle rocking skills!
