Let's start a thread for Black friday deals.

I see this at Radio Shack - The Dish Tailgater satellite receiver for $399. I don't know if it's a deal or not...

My deal from Dish trumps your deal from Radio Shack! ;-)

The radio shack offer includes the receiver which has special features for the tailgater antenna - not a bad deal for $400.

76 Birchaven - "Wicked Mistress" - New engine, trans, alum radiator, brakes, Sully airbags, fuel lines, seats, adult beverage center... those Coachmen guys were really thinking about us second hand owners by including that beverage center... Columbia, SC.

Larry,

Looks like Joe has done his homework better than I did!

I did not check the Radio Shack deal I just went to Dish!

$399 is terrific deal!

I used the Tailgater from April to November in a number of different locations and found the stations on it's own no problem. The
only requirement is that is has clear view of the southern sky.

Regards,
Rob M.

It amazes me what people pay out for TV these days. We seldom find enough time during the daytime to explore and scout everything we wish to do at one location. We don't even carry a TV. We're still "newbies" though. The entertainment to expense ratio just isn't there ,.....yet. (Sorry, Vanna)

I'm not trying to be elitist, but I quit TV back in the mid-90s. We dropped cable but kept broadband access in 2010. The cable company gave us the broadcast channels for no charge, so I didn't put up an antennae. But my wife like NFL and Monday Night Football is ESPN only. With a Directv travel rig, I could drop out during the off season unless we did want to take it traveling.

sleep.

Regards,

We don't watch the "news" anymore. If I want it I can go on the web and get the "Talking Points" from.
There is little commercial television that is worth taking the time. We do carry books and playing cards.
Talking to your wife can be entertaining, and I don't get time to do that at an international rally.

My wife does like TV. Due to my internet businesses, I was very familiar with the Netflix $1M challenge to develop their 'suggestion engine'. One of my daughters even competed with an algo. So I bought an xbox and also one of the first rokus and cautioned my wife to be very methodical in rating the movies and shows she selected from the git-go. As I never watch, the ratings are hers alone. She just let's Netflix select for her now and has years of programs in her queue.

I have no reason to return to Radio Shack.

The last time I was there, I purchased a product and for spending over $30, I was given a gift card to be used before
fathers day. Three days before fathers day I attempted to use the gift card at the same store of the original purchase.

Cashier said it's not valid. I explained that I purchased the item there. Nope, not valid, can't help you, call customer service 800 number.

Called the number and heard some story about supervisor out of the office till next week, I'll take your number and get back to you. Called back after not hearing any thing, response " that gift card program expired last weekend.

Radio Shack will not exist in 5 years. I suggest you sell your stock.

Matt,

I agree talking to YOUR wife is entertaining! ;-)

Talking to YOUR OWN wife is a different story! ;-) ;-)

As far as the news goes I enjoy McNeil Lehrer (it's got a new name), Fox News, 60 Minutes.

There a few programs that I enjoy as they are entertaining and don't require you to engage a large number of brain cells and promote
falling asleep.

Big Bang Theory, The Good Wife, CSI - Las Vegas, CSI - NY, Holmes - Make it Right, Blue Bloods, Law & Order. Then there's the most
famous Jewish Grandmother ever - Judge Judy.

Regards,
Rob M.

<< $278 ??? >>

I never understand this.

If you have a laptop anyway, $40 will get you MS Streets and Trips. Full featured, big laptop size screen, turn by turn driving directions, local information, trip planning helps and net connection to more information. If you don't have a gps antenna, that's a one time additional $25

And with the 2014 version about to be released, 2013 version is only $19.95

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/productID.253799900

Of course I also have never paided for TV programs. I miss some NASCAR races and Duck Dynasty, but there are more good programs available free than I have time to watch. When I go to the boonies with no local station, I'm not going to watch TV.
