Just learned of Dan Gregg having cancer and I am shocked, yet, encouraged. Why?
Al Carter in his book explained to me that cancer is a mutation of cells and that we all have cancer. You don't catch it or acquire it, but the immune system deals with it. When the immune system does not overcome it, we become ill with cancer.
We know of, let's see, four people healed of cancer, 3 from Lakewood Church in Houston, including Joel Osteen's mother, who in 1981 was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. She just turned 80 and is healthy as can be, healed, not by the doctors but by God. Ditto for all the others and for Alan Childs for whom we are praying now. The other person healed is our niece in her 50's, mother of 10 children, 3 still at home. Just last week pronounced healed by her doctors. The thing all these people have in common besides cancer is a trust and faith in God who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. If Jesus healed then, he can do it now. If he caused a blind since birth person to see, cancer is just a walk in the park for Jesus. Plus healing isn't hard, we only need to believe in the healer. Harder than it sounds when the worldly thoughts think otherwise. Of course, we want to include medicine and doctors in our process. We are modern people, not some Jesus freaks, as our kids call us. They don't get it though two of the four are coming around. We are glad that Dan and Teri believe as well as Terrie Lipscomb, Alan Childs, Dodie Osteen, the two other guys at Lakewood whose names I have forgotten and us and many of you who are praying for Dan. Where two or more are gathered in His name...........good things are bound to happen.

Thanks Michael. Teri and I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. We have prayed for many, over the years, that are on this forum. We live in a country where we can say and believe as we wish. I don't take it personally when folks get upset because it gets mentioned that you are praying for me. Nothing is being forced on anyone. Any time one of us is sick, I believe it to be a GMC topic.
I have been with this group for almost 10 years and will continue praying for my sick friends no matter. I will also make note of same right here until I am blocked by the administrator. We do not have to hang around with a bunch of folks who pray if we don't like it. Maybe one or two here need to run on back over to their Facebook page.
Life is good today
No offense intended

Isn't the virulent intolerance displayed by some folks amazing? They are not content to just be accepted by those who don't share their beliefs, but demand that others convert to theirs and even not proclaim their own!

I'm not a praying man but I know what great comfort prayer brought to my mother.

I've asked friends to pray for Dan's quick and full recovery. For what it's worth I've asked Catholics, Mormans, and Buddists.

I am not all knowing, but if it gives my friend comfort I'll do it.

As I've said before my delete key takes little effort, though vitriol and bad behavior certainly don't belong here (says I).

I made a simple statement regarding the content of the topic. I didn't disrespect anyone, and I didn't say anything negative about the post. I didn't question anyone's beliefs, or tell them not to pray.

That is more than I can say about some the the replies.

I normally stay out of most arguments here but this one really pissed mt off. He is a cut and paste of your statement"

This is not the forum for this sort of post.

As I said before if you cannot participate on this topic in a positive manner in support of Dan, then simply stay the hell out of the thread.

It is DEFINITELY APPROPRIATE for us to support my friend Dan. Over the years you probably seen a lot of teasing go back and forth between me and Dan. It was primarily me teasing Dan. In was all in fun. We are friends and now is not the time for this activity or any other negative negative things to be posted on this topic.

At the least, your posting showed poor just judgement.

I've had my say.

Just stay out of the thread.

I'll probably cool down tomorrow.

You know--I'm totally with Ottarwan on this. The replies to his comment are drastically more ignorant than people accuse of him. There isn't a day that I don't think of Dan and Terri, but in my case I don't feel like I need to flaunt the prayer and the Lord thing. I feel it is totally inapproprite and the taglines behind the signatures should not be allowed on this nor any forum. I respect all of you and even though I haven't met most of you, I considered many of you my friend, but I'm as pissed off as many of you, but in this case I'm pissed off at those that are too ignorant to understand that religeous beliefs have no relationship to how many of us feel and respect others. Your closed minds are offensive to me and frankly, I'm done with all of you after reading your replies. I'm erasing the link to the GMCnet and will practice my love and respect for others in my own way.

Ken - I mean no offense to anyone, but this post is not about supporting Dan (which of course I do). This post is about religion, faith healing, biblical miracles, converting people, etc. In fact, after the first line, there is virtually nothing in this post of relevance to supporting Dan or anything else, just a bunch of bible thumping which again I say has no place in this forum. Perhaps I am in the minority on this, but I would bet if I wrote a post asking Allah or Vishnu or Thor or Odin or Gandalf for support, the response would be quite different.

This may not be the place but it is the place. I think any time you bring religion or politics into a social discussion offense will be taken when none was intended. I delete 90% of what arrives in my inbox by a quick topic scan as I am sure many others do. I suggest everyone think a little more before posting when emotions in a thread run high. I mean maybe this isn't the place for a heavy religious post but for crying out loud one of our long time members with extensive contacts within the group is wrestling with the grim reaper ( or death or judgement day what the fuck ever you want to call it). The remark about whether this post is relevant is just not smart. Forget right and wrong how about some tact. Be smart y'all

This isn't a place to argue personal beliefs. It should just be a place for friends with some common bonding interests to support each other in easy times and tough times. We support each other whether the Suburban furnace has a glitch or if our internal metabolic biochemical furnaces are not running as they should.
