How does one go about installing the Panduit cover on the cable chaseway - a large mallet perhaps? Here are some pictures I took of the chaseway cover and the Panduit

Larry,

When I first installed the Panduit cover on the wire chase I used a rubber mallet to 'persuade' it. After the cover has been on there for a while and you need to open the chase again to add more wires the cover goes back on somewhat easier, no mallet required.

Haven't actually installed mine yet. But I measured spacing on raceway, and ID of Panduit. On one side of my coach it will fit OK, I think with just a press fit. But on the other side, the raceway is just too big and even it I could get the Panduit on, it would be stretched and warped in the process. I plan to use a dremel or other grinder to grind the raceway a tad smaller. I may also use a dremel to reduce the barb on the Panduit to make removal easier. These things are designed for raceways with flexible fingers. A rigid raceway makes removal problematic. Maybe hammering them on will in effect "grind" the barb off the soft plastic of the Panduit, but I plan to use a dremel.

Jay said "Maybe hammering them on will in effect "grind" the barb off the soft plastic of the Panduit…"

Or it will split the cover at the corner. Tried a little too much persuasion last night and did just that.

When I did mine several years back I used a 6 " long block of wood against the lip and hammered on that. It spreads the hammer blow over a larger area and they did not crack or chip.

Use a heatgun on low setting to relax the base. I bend up to 2" sch40 pvc conduit with a little heat, so even a hair dryer should work for this.
