I tried to search but not really sure what to call the door. maybe utility access? anyway, I am trying to find ways to secure the door in an open yet closed postion.
meaning if I have the coach plugged into power (we don't use the city water connection) the cord, of course, keeps the door open a little bit. If it is windy the door bangs up and down all the time. and of course there is some space left open to allow critters to enter. I know on the palm beach anyway the space is sealed or mostly sealed from the interior.
The coach is parked for the winter and I would like to plug it in so that I can charge the batteries.
seeing as we get snow here the space can get filled with the white stuff and I don't like the banging of the door anyway.
Am I the only guy to think the door should have an "open" lock postion? and some sort of flexible curtain?

You could make yourself a wedge type spacer out of 2" styrofoam that they use around basement walls. cut a small slot to math the power cable and another for the lock mechanism. Hold the door closed with little magnets glued to the back of the door. I have one little magnet about the size of a quarter stuck to the side of the coach that holds the door all the way open It touches the door lock which is steel.

I like the foam idea it will completly, or nearly completly, fill the gap to keep critters out. and if I cover the foam with fiberglass I might be able to have it still lock with the cord out.
Gene - this with the foam/fiberglass would hold the door closed even in the wind but would not lock the door so that it could not be moved when the cord is in use. I keep the power cord adaptor's in the cord storage space and they could grow legs while in a campground while we are away from the coach. having the door "lock" while semi open would be perfect.

There should be a large grommet around the AC cable to seal it to the moulded box. Sometimes it gets dislodged. From the inside cabinet you can reseat it. I put a dap of GOOP on it to keep in place

Yes grommet is there. sometimes it does get dislodged, will goop it up in the spring. I am most concerned with keeping anything from getting into the box in the first place.

Adam,
Since we supply all RV parts and accessory, the optional access covers have a U shape hole on the edge and a piece that cover the hole when not in use .
If you want , we can send you a picture so you can adapt that to your application.
