The '73 23' Sequoia has a 2' bumper extension and sheet metal storage bin on the extension. It all looks like this:
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/data/6181/W_0041.jpg
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/data/6181/W_0041.jpg
I had been using it to store the Onan pending getting it back in its compartment. Once I emptied the sheet metal storage bin, I was going to remove it and the 2' extension. That was the plan when I was going to keep the Sequioa and use it.

Now that the plan has changed, I need to re-evaluate the direction to go. The 2' extension sort of defeats the reason for having a 23' model. But the next owner might want the storage bin.

Opinions please:

Will removing the bin and extension increase or decrease the value of the motorhome?

I would take offers with and without the storage bin and extension. You have nothing to lose and maybe gain by doing nothing. Wink

The person to ask is not me. ....but is the person making the offer to you (and you can go both ways).

Your plan to remove the storage bin and 2' extension was a good idea, the storage bin is fugly!

Take photos of the bin and extension from the driver side, the passenger side and the back.

Remove the bin and take the same series of photos.

Remove the 2' extension and take the same series of photos.

When you get a buyer show the photos and parts to him, if he wants them include them, if not flog them.

By the way, I purchased a bumper hitch storage extension from Harbor Freight for $70 on sale and a plastic builders box with wheels
that just fit in it for another $70.

Yep. Since I need some sheet metal to reline the Onan compartment, I was planning to use the metal from the bin for that.

But I thought I would see what people think of the storage before I expend the effort.

I've been looking for my own GMC (to replace our beloved "semi-classic" Pleasure-Way) - and in my opinion, removing it would increase the value of your coach!

It looks like nice workmanship but the Pontiac Aztek looks better Smile

A classic case of "hammer to fit, paint to match".

This is how I have added extra cargo space for our coach. This was version 1, version 1A will include a new extended hitch and a support to prevent the slight bounce that the unit had. It has worked great for the last 6K miles.
