If it makes you feel any better, it's from a horse trailer and has an extra tank. The odds are that it's going to be very high hours. But still...

Not at all.  She will cherish the sparkly, and the genset would get her hand all greasy.

Yesterday, I scored a recently serviced ev6010 with muffler for $600. It was in the area where I'm headed for Thanksgiving dinner.

It remains to be seen whether the EV-6010 I bought turns out to be a prize or a turkey. For now, it rests in my son's garage north of ABQ until there is a weather window good enough for me to make the 525 mile trip to fetch it!

I'm contemplating selling my EV4010 with only 80 hrs on the clock... It may be too big and heavy for the camper I want to install it in... I just cannot make up my mind where I want to install it, where I want to move the water heater to, and then there is the whole gasoline supply issue. Confused

After spending a week with 100,000 other campers at Nascar race week, seeing all the EU2000i's paired together, I may go that route instead... Or a 1000 and a 3000 (You can actually pair those together if you make your own cable). Very Happy

Unfortunately it is only a 4010, not a 6010, but it will run the 15K AC and the Microwave... Would be ideal for a single AC coach, or a 23' with some creative installation.

I went with the paired Honda 2000's for my truck camper. You can have 4000 when really need it, but most of the time you can just run one. If you do go the two Honda 2000 route, you have to have one that is a specific "Companion" model. You can not link two regular 2000's together without some additional aftermarket boxes and wiring. You need a Companion model 2000 and a regular model 2000.

I am considering adding a second A/C unit to my GMC that would be specifically sized to run of a 2000. I have a Coleman Polar Cub on the truck camper that I can run all day and night off a single 2000. It would not cool a big coach in really hot temps but it would do a nice job at night for sleeping. Although my Onan currently runs well, I will always carry one of the little Honda's as well.

You don't have to use a companion, it is fairly straightforward to build the cabling for less than the extra cost of the companion, and it allows you to mix-n-match units. I saw a 3000 and two 1000's all paralleled together this way.

I would most likely just get the two 2000's with a companion for ease of use, however.

Too bad they don't have electric start like some of the chinese models...
