Eugege has asked several times in the past for us not to embed photos in
our posts on the phorum. The phorum is flushed from time to time to trim
it's storage requirements and to keep things running properly. At that
time, the past is lost.
The photo site is made for this. Photo titles and descriptions as well as
album intrductions allow for unlimited commentary. AND, it'll be there
FOREVER.

helpful if you are doing multiple images and explaining what each image is
or explaining steps of a procedure.

Speaking of Photos - Is there any way to do a search while on the Photo site?
I was looking for something just the other day and I had to look through all the albums pictures in the mechanical album.

Tony (Ontario Canada) Marie and I are blessed to have had a 2nd chance to buy our farm. Still hoping and more importantly praying to be able to build a garage. Our 1970 Ultravan #520 has an Olds Toronado 455 in back.

Notice taken, it is however the first forum I have been to that actually ask you to not post photo's and use links to another site.
No problem, just a new thing for me

I think you misunderstand Billy.
People are NOT imbedding photos. They are imbedding LINKS to photos on the GMCphoto site or elsewhere just like emailers do.
The only difference for us is when the posting is displayed on our browser we automatically see the photo inline which was automatically retrieved by our browser from the GMC photo site.
For us it is kind of like reading a book or a newspaper instead of having to go to the appendix or another book to find the photos.
The photos in question are NOT stored on Eugene's site and the photo data never flowed to or through Eugene's site. Doing what we are doing does NOT increase Eugene's storage requirement or increase the bandwidth required by Eugene's server. It also does not hurt email users.
Eugene does not allow or provide space for storing photos just like the email server.

So I have been putting the photos on the photo site AND inserting the photos into my forum posts AND providing a link for the email guys to click on. Is that not an acceptable approach?

Keep doing what you are doing. You are not inserting photos into your forum
posts. You are inserting a LINK to the photos via the IMG feature that
makes the images APPEAR in your posts without actually taking up space on
the server. Mostly. Like I have posted a couple of times today, using the
IMG tags adds 11 characters to the post length. Duplicating the url without
the IMG tags for the mail list subscribers adds the number of characters in
the url to the length of the post. A hundred characters, more or less.
