If anyone local wins this coach and it ends up being parted or at least some of it needs parting, I'd be willing to buy the awning and maybe some of the front trim pieces. I'd pay more than the current bid just for those, but I don't have a place to store the coach nor do I have the time or expertise to put it back on the road if it is roadworthy.

Speaking of GMC auctions, the beautifully restored one in Michigan just sold on eBay for $46,250 on a "buy-it-now". I talked to the seller Saturday and he said a car dealer in Texas was pretty interested and thought the family would take between 45 and 47 thousand for it.

Ron,
The coach was tentatively purchased by someone in the MidWest. I have been told that it will be going back to Cinnabar today or tomorrow for a complete inspection to insure it is what was advertised and there are no problems or issues with the coach.

It says:

'At this time we require you to register a license to bid on this lot. If you do not have the required license, then you may bid on this lot through one of our Brokers or visit a Market Maker for more assistance'

So be it.  Yall see if you can get it fer cheap, parts or rebuild.  I've no intention of paying anyone for the privlege of buying something.

From what I can determine, Copart's facilities' rules vary state by state and even by individual facility. That Alabams facilty (for me, logged in as NC business)

Dealer/Dismantler = BID CARD
General Business and Exporters = BROKER
Private Individuals = BROKER

They may allow in-state individuals to bid based upon your member profile as all NC facilities appear to be open to my bids.

I also believe that you have to pay a membership of $200 and keep a deposit on hand if you want to buy a second time. Your first purchase is limited to $1000, too.

Anyone know what it went for or who got it?

I just got this reply, wish I had bid on it...

Michael, my GMC has been under cover in storage for several years. The only physical damage that it’s sustained that I noted was the front skylight which has cracked. This allowed a small area of water damage to an area approximately a foot square on the hardwood floor to the left of the step behind the driver’s seat. The weatherstripping around the windows has pulled loose from the frame on the large windows and will need replacing. The tires on it are not in good shape. It still has the original wheels which, of course, need to be changed to the aluminum wheels so that you can use radials. It has been started several times each year but I’m sure the belts and hoses need replacing before any extended travel. It is being auctioned off because traveling the way I do I would have had a hard time selling it outright so I donated it to the American Diabetes Association. Traveling with my work I was unable to use it and this is the reason I had to part with it. There is no flood damage however we came very close in a monsoon down at a campground in Orlando several years back. The water came up rapidly but receded before it got to the rims. If you get the GMC, call or email me. I have the manuals and the central vacuum that came out of it along with a few other items you might like. I did put the valves on the air bags so that the bags stay inflated if you have problems with the air pump. These valves are in the close position at present so will have to be opened to air up the bags for driving. There are several spare parts in the rooftop container and under the couch/lower bunk bed. The rear seats are folded down with a sheet of plywood on top of them so a full size mattress could be put in the back. The toilet and holding tank had antifreeze put in them to prevent freezing. The gas tank had “Stabil” added to it so the tanks should be OK.

He also included a phone number which I will email to the buyer if the buyer is on here.

I spoke to the seller Saturday and he agreed to sell it in the $45-$47,000 range. We would settle on a price and he would add buy it now for that price and I'd be go on eBay right then and click the buy it now button. The sold price is right where I thought it would have to be.
