We've been living with our very original '76 Palm Beach for about 18 months now and have been generally impressed with its design. The one glaring flaw we've found is that there doesn't seem to b a good place to put a trash can. We're a family of five, so it doesn't take long for trash to accumulate.

Where do you guys stash your trash? Am I missing an obvious good place?

It's not elegant but we hang a plastic grocery bag (when stores still gave them away) from the knobs of the stove.
Maybe not big enough for 5 though

We bought a small rectangular waste basket with a pedal to step on to raise the lid. It has clips on the front and back inside it to hang a plastic grocery bag.
We bought it at The Container Store. I can take a picture if anyone wants.

It sits on the floor in front of the refrigerator. It has never fallen over

I spin the front seats and store it in front of the passenger seat.  I don't want the dog(s) grazing it.  When I'm cooking I put it beside me and stumble over it.

Looks like several good ideas. Right now, we just hang a white kitchen trash bag from one of the drawers, but it gets in the way when you open the bathroom door. We have a dog, too, so I like the idea of something that closes. I just hate to lose any cabinet space. With 5, it is a precious commodity Thanks for the ideas.

Eric,

Here's what Helen and I bought for Double Trouble:

http://www.simplehuman.com/10-litre-semi-round-step-can-fingerprint-proof-brushed-stainless-steel

takes these bags:

http://www.simplehuman.com/code-c-custom-fit-can-liners-20-pack

There's only the two of us so it might be a bit small for you and your family.

Here is what we are using

http://m.containerstore.com/mt/www.containerstore.com/shop/trashRecycling/wastebaskets?productId=10035811&N=70652&Nao=48&Ns=p_sort_default %7C0

It takes standard plastic grocery bags.

I had the same problem. I bought a pullout kit from Lowes and mounted it under the sink. works great, but then I have "normal" household cabinets (also from Lowes) in my coach.

All these methods of storage of garbage are nice but they take up storage space in your coach and some appear to be a pain to empty and keep clean. We use a very basic method. We have one of the stick on hooks on our Frig door and hang a plastic shopping bag from it. We double bag to insure no leakage. We replace when full or at least at the end of the day. You get these bags for free, no muss, no fuss. Easy and simple to do and very low cost solution. That’s how we do, your solutions may vary!

No problem except for the appearance of garbage hanging on the refrigerator.

We have a 23 (as most of you know) so we have a convenient place to put a dollar store mini-crate on the step next to the door. It is next to the dog food and water bowls that also inhabit that step. the crate is just a little small for a plastic grocery bag and that way when it is full, we can pull the rest of the bag up and tie it off. Nobody kicks it, the dog knows to stay out of it. (She has been seen to investigate it at times, but stops with that.) It is next to the galley.

Well, this is a good answer for a 23 (11% of the population).

Matt
