Good morning, Thank you all for your kind concern. I am home and felling fine. Never did have any pain as such. I was up most of last Thurs night with pressure in my chest. Cat fed me aspirin and antacids. Went to Dr Fri morn and did an EKG and straight to emergency room. They confirmed I had a massive heat attack and admitted me. In the process of doing stents they found a AAA lower aorta aneurism bout the size of a grapefruit. Gotta go back and get that dealt with. The vascular surgeon says that he can do a "Y" shaped covered type stent on the inside of the aneurism but he will have to get it special made since I am a total hip amputee and one side branch of the aorta is a different size than the other. While I was having a CAT scan they found small holes in my left hip wing bone and thought it might be cancer. They had the whole hospital a hopping to get me transferred immediately to Thompson cancer center for a full PET scan and evaluation. Thankfully the cancer Dr looks at the scans and me before they shipped me off and said it was cause I was a amputee and the bones were no longer weight bearing and the pockets were fat deposits. Probably the only place I got fat.. While they were doing the heart cath and stents the nurses had me covered from my private parts over. It wasn`t till the heart Dr came in to tell me the results that he noticed I was an amputee. So for the next hour or so I am splaining how I balance the Harley and do the clutch and transmission and how I do the clutch on the big truck and the tarps and chains and how my prosthesis worked and what in the world a fwd GMC motorhome is. I am sure if he had any hair he would have been scratching his head. Speaking of hair guess I`ll get back to pealing glue where they had electrodes stuck to me. Every time a different test was ran they had to peel and re-stick the electrodes. I kinda look like an old harry dog with the mange. So no driving till Sunday (Moms house for dinner) and lite duty for 2 weeks (no motor or tranny swaps just brakes, electrical, alignments, you know lite stuff), then back for more Dr stuff.
I am truly grateful for all your prayers and concerns and hope you will join me in praying for Dan. If nothing else maybe I am an example of hope. There is no reason for an old junkyard dog like me to be so blessed and a fine pedigree like Dan be dealt such a lousy hand. I do know there are powers beyond our perception and there is always hope. Some times all it takes is for one Dr to see something obvious that no one else has.

PLEASE HELP DAN SWEET JESUS; PLEASE HELP US ALL.

.Chuck,

I'm a Virgo and we're noted as being unemotional / logical people which fits me to a "T."

I'm an unemotional bugger most of the time, it takes a lot to make me tear up but the last paragraph of your email did!

Junk yard dog? Nah you and Dan are shining examples of the people that hang around here - we REALLY care about others and that's
becoming more and more rare as time goes on!

Regards,
Rob M.

Dan and Chuck. I am very gratified that the two of you are holding up well.
Good Medical Doctors are by no means the only ones out there. There are
some who call themselves by the name DOCTOR who bring dishonor to that
title. I have run into some of them personally. Do not be afraid or timid
to SPEAK UP. Find the best that is out there. You deserve NO LESS than the
best care available.
Kinda looks like that ol' Vietnam Conflict is still killing US
Soldiers, one vet at a time. Damned Agent Orange anyway. I have lost as
many good friends after the hostilities ended as when they were still going
on. But all this has given me a great appreciation for life, family
(including the great GMC Family) and in the holy spirit that we all know by
many different names. It is real and therefore as a promise to us all. Keep
your friends and family close, and a wary eye on your enemies. The best
revenge is to live long enough to be a problem for our kids. (GRIN)

Chuck and Dan,

Glad you both have a grip on your situations and have a game plan. Stick with it.

Had my yearly physical and the doc went over the test results with me Monday. She don't like the results of the liver function so no over the counter stuff and no alcohol. ...just the meds she has me on for blood pressure and type-2 sugar. And we'll check back with her in a few weeks. Was feeling sorry for myself, but I can see that ya'll are having a tougher go of it than me. Take care and hope to see both of ya at Bean Station in the spring.

Chuck,

It's great to hear from YOU! Even with the challenges you still face, it's
great to hear that you're doing so well.

Based on my recent experience, the best thing for GMCers to do is use their
GMCs! As soon as I got home from the 5 month trip, I got lab work done and
started the rounds of all the doctors who'd been missing me. Would you
believe, the lab results were might nigh perfect? One parameter, which no
one seemed to care about, was slightly out of desired range; everything
else was right down the middle. Even hemoglobin A1C, the diabetes
indicator, was the best I've had in 10-15 years! Gotta get the GMC put
back together so I can leave again! :-)

You keep taking care of yourself.

Quite a trip report, but a trip that ended well. I will put you on my prayer list for when you get your new tubes. ( I don't guess they can just get the parts from JimK... He has every kind of GMC tube known to man.)

BTW, I am always overwhelmed by the powerful statements of faith here. Gives me pause...
