Howdy!

This weekend I am going to start my first project on "Harvey the RV", that's
what my son named it.

From what I can tell it would be best to support the frame with jacks, then
let the wheels drop and I should be able to replace the values. Any
suggestion or tips from experience?

Also if someone can look at my TZE # and make confirm it's a Glenbrook, I'd
appreciate it. It appears as Harvey was used as a vehicle in Oregon to sell
Zenith TVs originally. So I am not sure what model is was originally.

There is no need to jack up the coach to replace the leveling valves. If you want to raise it a bit for more clearance that is OK.

If you do decide to raise the rear of coach off of the ground, make sure you bleed off the air pressure in the air bags BEFORE you raise the coach to the rear upper limit. If you do not remove the pressure you stand a good chance of blowing the seals in the rear shocks.

If you are replacing the rear leveling switches / valves, get the adjusting links from Ken Henderson and replace them at the same time.

I sent you a note on a different subject via email earlier today.

Thanks for the tip Ken. No having to jack it up will save some time. When it
sits overnight, the rear is pretty much dragging on the ground, so I assume
it's bled at that point. I already have the adjusting links from Ken
Henderson.

I also have the replacement power converter and am now waiting for the ONAN
board replacement. I have tags and plates, so I am almost go on a trip. :)

BTW my next post/question is going to be something along the lines of...
ummm... how so I empty the toilet. :) I am new to RVs in general, so the
next few questions will be pretty dumb. :)

My email was that I picked up a pair of schrader valves from that closed Ace store we went to. Please email me your snail mail address and I'll send them to you.

Brian,

Here's a link to all the manuals for your GMC:

http://www.bdub.net/factory-manuals.html

Scroll down to 75 and download the Operators Manual for your GMC, you will find a wealth of information on how it works.

You might want to grab copies of the Maintenance Manual and Parts Book as well.

It would be easier on the shocks if you balled some pressure off of the bag after gaining some lift with the jack. Might be even easier to shore up the back under the bogie box then release the air from the bag til the coach settles on the blocking. Verify that the stud holding the height control valve is not spinning when you try to remove the nut. If so you will need to access the head of the bolt from the interior while the nut is removed. Hope it does not spin.
