I've been attempting to decipher the different AAA programs. They seem to be long on hype and short on actual information, and filled with wiggle words like "eligible vehicles". So here are my basic questions.
It looks like the Premier RV $160/year membership is the way to go. 200 miles towing, roadside assistance, etc. Does this cover your other vehicles as well as your GMC? All the documentation I can find says it applies to all "eligible vehicles" but nowhere can I find a definition of that term.
Having never been an AAA member (can usually fix the problem but realize this will not always be the case with the GMC) I have no experience with them. Are they reliable? Easy to work with? Do what they say? Or are they like an insurance company where you have to battle for every inch?
Any input would be appreciated. I know many of you have this coverage and have used it. Thanks!

Based on threads here, I went with AAA RVplus. I believe someone pointed out that an RV is only towed 100 miles but I do not know what AAA defines as "eligible vehicle."

It covers any vehicle you are a passenger in at the time of a breakdown.
The 200 mile tow covers any vehicle you are a passenger in. And by
passenger I also mean driver.
Vehicle needs to be tagged etc. I think I sort of abused them not knowing
any better and they didn't call me on it when they towed the Barn Queen. I
need to keep my membership with them for a few more years before they break
even again on that deal. :)

AAA coverage is on the policy owner(s), not specific vehicle(s) as I understand it. My wife is not currently included since she only started driving again after a stroke.
Time to add her and cancel other towing insurance policies.

AAA Plus RV and AAA Premier RV Membership:
Enhance your AAA Plus or AAA Premier benefits by adding RV coverage. RV provides up to 100 driving miles of towing for motor homes, pickup trucks with campers, travel trailers (including fifth wheel), motorcycles, camping trailers, snowmobile trailers, and boat trailers.

This may vary by state, but I don't think so.

Thanks Dan. I see you have a new GMC on craigslist. Is that the one from back east?
The Twinkie II is doing great. We're having a blast!

AAA doesn't vary by state. It varies by local and/or regional affiliation.
Each regional group may have subtle differences in coverage.
Technically, if AAA in Kansas City will do one thing then AAA in Cincinnati
will honor the contract in the event you're home office is in Kansas City.
I added RV Plus when I needed a tow and my local AAA allowed me to do that.
First, they made a call to my home AAA office and then sent the tow when my
home office gave the approval.

Yeah, ours is "Carolinas" not an individual state. So there are some differences depending on your region, eh?
>100 miles
As first pointed out here in a thread, and then confirmed in some obscure/buried part of the AAA site, it's 100 miles for coaches. I believe it's further if there are no qualified shops to perform the repairs??
Also, I believe several here carry 2 policies, AAA and Coachnet.

Premier in California doesn't really help you with an RV. They just refer you to a list of service providers which you'll have to pay. It also gives you $300 in RV coverage. I assume you have to file a claim for that. $300 doesn't get you very far at over $10/mile.
