Took out the instrument cluster and replaycing with working instruments

Just one thing I am not quite sure about

If I understand it right the gen warningligth is wired between ( from diagram) gen-teltale and ignition.

Is that right ?

Would love to add a picture of new dash, but can not get it small enough to add here

Pictures need to be uploaded to the photo site (http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/) with a link to the album, like this:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/items-for-sale/p51275-sold-pair-of-leather-seats-with-seat-belts-and-quick-release-base.html

or a link to the specific picture, either with, or without the IMG tags like this:

While trying to add them here I got them down to 20 Kb
That would work for basic documentation but would not be good enough for the pictureside

Appie,

That's much smaller than necessary so file size is not the reason you can't get them to upload.

Rob M.

The pictures exist on the server that powers the photo site (http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/) and are linked by the "img" tag in the forum post.

If you are using the forum instead of email, you can "imbed" any web-available photo in a forum post by enclosing the file URL within the "img" tags.

The first image of the album at

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/1974-gmc-restoration/p51280-unkown-relay.html

is

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/data/4963/medium/Image92.jpg

If you enclose it in "img" tags like this

[img]http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/data/4963/medium/Image92.jpg[/img]

it looks like this"

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/data/4963/medium/Image92.jpg

If you want the email users to see the photo, you need to post the URL twice, once within the "img" tags and once without the "img" tags, as the interface that sends stuff from the forum server to the mail server deletes the image imbedding code, along with the URL inside the "img" tags.

Appie,
Check this link. I think it will answer your question.
I recently had an overheated nichrome wire melt insulation on wires in the bundle including the wire to the alt light.

I made this change as described by Jim Bounds. Replaced all the damaged wires and now all is working again.

http://gmccoop.com/alt__light_circuit_refit.htm

If this doesn't work check Jim Bounds site or pull up my post about the problem from 2 weeks ago today.

Good luck

You guys are missing the point. He is attempting to load the pictures to the forum web site rather than to the GMCMHphoto web site.

Eugene has the ability to post pictures to the forum turned off. This forces people to upload to the gmcmhphoto site where emailers can also see them.

Now someone give him explicit instructions on how to upload to gmcmhphotos and then explicit instructions on how to make an image statement on the forum plus a URL reference so emailers can also see them.
