Dropped the big cabinet, up front, this afternoon. Got the large window loose. Will replace window tomorrow and hope to get headliner out. Pictures will be posted.

Dan,
Put some insulation in the overhead while you have the headliner out. Especially since you're going back to Arizona some day. See my past posts for the product. You'll be happy and thank yourself later.

We bought insulation and marked out "holes" in the front headliner board before we gave it up for the day. Will give it another go tomorrow.
Took my best friend out for supper at a new steak house. Hope that we can get the corner of the window to pull in tomorrow.

I have not done that job before and have no first hand knowledge. I have been told that some trimming of the original aluminum is required and that you must start at the top and work down when mounting.

What happens to the seal (sealant) while you leave the window installation until tommorrow would it not dry and then it will be impossible to pull in the window corner?

No, it does not harden. It took me a week to get the window pulled down in the door, after it was installed at Dothan. The bedroom window fit perfect and pulled down in a couple of days. Ken, I told Teri last night that I thought Blaine had to do some trimming. It is weird, I have moved the window up, down, sideways, and this one corner just does not pull in, even tho I can see space all around it. This is the first new style and they are not really curved like the side of the coach. I took everything back off and tried to pull that corner first, still no go. I will get it moving today. It ain't going to leak like the old one did, I am sure of that.
I have lots of pictures, don't y'all worry.

Dan,
When we installed our windows, we ran into two problems that prevented us from being able to pull in the windows.
The first problem was the holes were not properly drilled. We probably had to redrill half the holes on all the windows. The screws would just turn and turn, but they would not get tight...they just spun.
The second problem was the bottom wouldn't pull in. In Dothan when we attended the session on installing your door window, they said to put the screws in the top first and let the bottom hang away from the coach. On our windows, for whatever reason, the bottom didn't hang away from the coach. When we started putting the screws in at the top, the bottom also came in to the coach. When we got to the bottom, it wouldn't pull in. We actually had to take the entire window out and luckily we had enough of the sticky sealant to redo. We put it in again, but this time put shims at the bottom from the inside. That kept the window up off the bottom of the window frame. Then when we started to tighten the screws coming down the sides, we removed the shims and the window pulled in at the bottom.

When I replaced all my windows last November I had to grind a little off the two large front windows, not much, the openings were a little out of square. A grinding wheel made quick work of it....be sure to grind so the dust is expelled from the coach, not into it. Btw still finding sticky pieces of the original sealant, that stuff was nasty!

Thanks Larry. Maybe I need to remove the shims now. Everything is pulling right down but the one spot and I have shims under that end. I am not worried about it. It won't leak when I get done with it. Been spraying some insulation this morning. That stuff is sticky. And, of course, Teri came out and found some had fallen to the floor. Ain't life grand.
