Moonshiners reunion is how it is listed on line.
Long weekend in May and October.
Location is great base camp for bike riding.
Approx 170 miles one way, pulling trailer with harley bagger, I would guess trailer and bagger weight 1500 or so. GMC liked cruising at 55 to 60, vacuum gauge read good, gps had me 5 mph faster than speedo. no tach as of yet. Factory temp gauge for the most part stayed one notch above mid point.
At festival, passenger rear side lowered to 4x4, drivers side blocked at 2 of the 4x4's and a 2 by. Home for thursday, friday and saturday nights.
First trip with no water leaks. I would even forget to turn water pump switch off. First trip using shower.
First trip with new fridge.
I would empty my ice trays before bed, and sometime again the next afternoon. Ice was plentiful with only 4 trays. It was nice having ice for the few adult beverages that would be consummed each evening. Fridge would be cooler in morning than evening, but fridge temp was always 40 or cooler. I never did see it say low dc, I have a 240 or 270 house battery, and I leave my overhead fan to turn on automatically when it gets to second red notch on its switch.
Plan was to run generator each afternoon after bike ride to run ac , heat water and charge batterys . After first day generator would not run, I listed post reference to onan part. Thanks for the help to ID part (gas cut off), I removed part. Now generator would run again, but would stall out after half hour. I would restart and let it go again. Usually when it stalled out again I was cleaned up, had eaten and ready to enjoy the music festival.
(I need to work on generator, can I run a gas line from a gas can to the pump input to run generator?
With staying out of the gas pedal a liitle as I watched vac gauge. And estimating gas used by generator, My coach maintained the 8 to 10 mpg for the trip.
This was also first trip with the marvels mystery oil oiler I got off ebay. It used maybe 2 ounces . This was by far my best mpg trip, but I am not redy to give the oiler the credit for that. Each time I drive I get more comfortable. which leads to better paying attention , which leads to better driving.
I am already looking forward to my next camping trip. Jordan lake, weekend of nov 22nd.
