Many thanks to Matt Collie who took time to conduct a fridge repair session for my 77 Palm Beach.
We found two things, well, three if you add a mostly clueless newbie owner, two things:
1. The orifice valve on the burner was badly clogged. Open enough to produce a flame and heat, but not enough to really produce the heat needed for the fridge to really work properly.
2. We also found a ton of fine dust in the burner housing. There was the same dust below the burner. He cleaned it all out and then dressed the threads on the burner housing where the orifice screwed into.
Two hours later, approx, I had a 20 degree freezer and 40 in the fridge. 24 hours later, it is holding.
I learned a lot and have a working fridge for the first time this summer.
I was also treated to a terrific home cooked meal, courtesy of Mary Collie, and some great wide ranging, conversation.
Thank you again, Matt and Mary.

Glad to hear it. Nothing like being able to access knowledge from others. At some point we will all have an opportunity to "give back" and share what we have learned with others.
