G'day,
Helen and I rolled into the storage facility in Humble, TX today at 4:30 PM. We left on August 17th and covered 3,564 miles. Only
problems were:
1) A new five year old Kumho tire (the spare) that was installed in Humble and suffered thread separation on the first day of our
trip just outside Lafayette, LA.
2) I blew a braided stainless steel hose off the middle disk brakes when KerryP made me one of his KISS parking brakes. Spoke to
the company that made them and they requested I send it back along with the one from the other side which I will do.
3) A few minor bouts with vapor lock remained minor with the aid of JimB's small Facet pump between the AUX tank and the selector
valve that comes on when I select AUX.
Helen and I would like to thank the GMCer's that provided gracious hospitality on our tour:
Bill & Betty Chimento
Robin & Dana Hood
Kerry & Carolyn Pinkerton
Chuck & Cathy Boyd
Byron & Martha Songer
Jim & Nancy Miller
Walt & Sara Halley
Ken & Laurie Burton
I did record the gas consumed on this trip but forgot to record Onan hours. I will compute it after I have the tanks fill before I
head back Downunder.
Regards,
Rob M.

Rob,
Didn't know you were tracking fuel consumption. Knowing that Helen has an
iPad, I should have given you my application for doing such. At every fuel
stop I check the genset hours as well as the miles traveled, etc.
It also has the ability to keep track of maintenance and line items for
parts on repairs.
Glad to have had you folks here. May you continue to have safe travels.

Dwayne,
Helen returns to Sydney on Monday, John Sharpe and I will be flying to Eugene, renting a car, and staying at the hotel; it doesn't
take the math skills of Einstein to figger out that to attend a convention or rally that more than half way across the country doing
that is cost and time effective as compared to driving a coach.
From Humble, TX to Coos Bay is 2400 miles one way (4800 miles RT). That equates to 480 gallons of gas and at $3.20 per gallon that
$1,536 in gas alone. My UA ticket was $334 plus another $120 for economy plus. The hotel room for both of us is something like $85 a
night ($425) and the rental car is $220; this totals $901.
Now before everybody jumps on me I would say that if you can include a rally with a tour THEN it makes more sense to take the coach
which is EXACTLY what Helen and I do each year in the fall.
Regards,
Rob M.
