Anyone know the number of the NGK plugs that Dick Paterson recommends ? We have a coach in northern Indianna having some firing issues and wants a set of these plugs so he can get on home to Ontario from Branson.
Thanks,
Dan

Thanks Dan
We could not find anyone who could even order those things for us so we went with standard AC Delco plugs to get him on the road again. We replaced lots of stuff ()hrowing parts at it) and ran a new ground to the ECM. We worked all afternoon and evening and I got home at 2:10 AM.
He just called here and told me it ran fine all the way home which was about 750 kilometers. It may have the base timing off. I could not find the jumper to cripple the ECM so I set the timing by my best guess. He says it idles about 250 RPM fast so I assume the base timing is a few degrees advanced. It wont hurt anything since the ECM controls when to advance it from there.
Thanks for the help every one.

I hope it's Ross Hallman you've helped. He left a voicemail on HER phone
on Thursday, but in the midst of our own troubles, SHE didn't see it until
today. No answer when I returned his call.

It was.
He rode along with us (Blaine and I) from Missouri to Valparaiso, Ind. stopping every 100 to 150 miles to try something different. We finally just replaced everything ignition wise with new stuff all at once, and also ran a new ground to the ECM from the engine. It is anyone's guess which part actually fixed it.
I hate intermittent problems and working on something I know nothing about.

Well, only time will tell. He went around 475 miles after the "fix" with no problem. That is 3 times the distance he could go before.

Where does one buy the NGK XR51X. I should have just bought them from Dick Paterson at Branson but assumed they were available locally. I don't see the XR51X as being available.

I think it is XR5IX ("eye" "X") rather than XR51X ("one" "x"). They are available from Amazon, Jegs, Summit, etc.

Guys,
Thanks for pointing out the error in the number. The number is NX5IX, the plug is the IX series of spark plugs. The 1 and I sometimes look similar at times. Again Thanks! I have corrected the error and will repost the information in a few minutes.

Rock Auto also lists them under part number 7355. I was not smart enough yesterday to use the 7355 number when I was looking for them locally.
I still think Jim K. probably has them.
