I am going to have to sell my "project" 1978 Eleganza II due to family circumstances.
My biggest challenge, to be honest, is that it is a project. It is not usable and needs a lot of work.
- All original - no upgrades at all except a Suburban heater.
- Engine starts (not connected to tanks though) but needs work. A lot of work. Possibly a rebuild.
- Air bags work but eventually lose air (well, what else is new)
- Front end has an issue - possibly collapsed hexes.
On the plus side, I have an additional engine (that needs to be rebuilt) and a complete set of manuals. So that's that.
So basically this will need to be low-boyed out of my driveway by someone with more time and money than me. Or taken apart for parts.
What is the consensus on what I should be asking for this? It it even sellable?
Any advice/opinions would be most welcome...
Oh, and if anybody is in Southern California and wants to have a look, please let me know and I will be happy to show you. It is in the San Fernando Valley.

Denis,
Don't take offense, but you have about $1200 to $2000 worth of coach and parts, all used in various states of condition, mostly having to be rebuilt. It is a basket case, but with the right person could be made whole. Too far from me to buy anything.

I wonder if Mr. Gourdine of Black Rock Desert RV Rental would be interested
in it for either parts or as a rehab case? It's certainly closer than a lot
of other basket cases he may have dealt with.

I take no offense at all and truly appreciate the candid feedback!
I will be the first to admit that it is very much a basket case. Likely rebuildable by someone with time and money. But nothing by any means usable in its current condition.
I know a couple of people have asked, it is in the West San Fernando Valley, Woodland Hills area. Easy straight-through lowboy loading, no major challenges to drag it out of there other than a really low front suspension, so clearance is not great (it is parked facing away from the street).

How much would you charge for me to switch out drawer fronts? Handles were added to all of ours and I prefer the no handle thing. Three year old is right at eye level with them. We have a 76 Eleganza and I'm pretty sure the drawers are the same. Are yours in good shape?

It may be re-build-able and restore able... Pictures of the coach would do
much to show us if its a basket case or a candidate for putting back
together.
Its like older cars, what one may consider "junk" could be put back
together and driven to a rally in a couple years.

Pictures! I forgot. I took some today and put them in a little album. Including pictures of the "spare" rebuildable engine and the manuals, for all they're worth.
As I was taking pictures of the interior I turned on the Norcold refrigerator just for giggles. Fired right up and started making some cold! (the coach has been connected to power the whole few years I've had it).
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g5514-selling.html
The interior is a bit messy - sorry about that, it's been used as storage for a while.
Submitted for your opinion(s).

If you don't really need the few hundred buccks you could get from it, and if you'd like to see it restored, You might want to advertsise it for free or VERY cheap but only to a qualified person. Come up with a criteria.
Somewhere out there is a person, maybe a younger family who would love the opportunity and could thorw a lot of time and energy into it.
The glamper / canned ham craze has brought RV restoration to a younger crowd and some are wanting more than a single axle metal tent. Note the recent addition of Alex Posner.

That's what my PB is going for. Swap for a pickup, and the NO (New Owner) needs a place to stay for the months he builds his dream house for which it's perfect, then he will rebuild it into his travellin' coach. I'm pleased.

If you don't really need the few hundred buccks you could
get from it, and if you'd like to see it restored, You
might want to advertsise it for free or VERY cheap but only
to a qualified person. Come up with a criteria.
Somewhere out there is a person, maybe a younger family who
would love the opportunity and could thorw a lot of time and
energy into it.
The glamper / canned ham craze has brought RV restoration to
a younger crowd and some are wanting more than a single axle
metal tent. Note the recent addition of Alex Posner.

Looks like a decent old girl.
That said, if you could represent that the frame is in "pristine" condition, some folks might jump on it.

Denis,
You're going to have an extremely difficult time selling or even giving away your coach.
You listed no phone # and the email address is invalid.
I had passed your info to some one in your area who may be interested but they have been unable to contact you.
I tried leconte@yahoo.com- did not work.
Good luck.
