Just got a really mechanically sound 74 Canyon Lands 260 with a lot ofl the mechanical upgrades already done. But it needs a little love in the way of new carpet, upholstery and a few exterior components freshened up.
I really like the retro look of the original interior and plan on getting as close to original as I can.
The only difference will be some allure vinyl wood plank flooring around the middle of the coach.
My question is where would I find the original floral pattern cushions or fabric?
Do folks who redo there interiors just throw that stuff away or keep it to sell to those who might want it?
Looking forward to gaining some knowledge from all the experts here.
It's been fun reading and searching already.

Curt,
Sometimes you can find these things on the GMC Swapmeet site. Or, sometimes
the big GMC parts suppliers might have some as take outs in the used parts
supplies. You might check with Alex Sirum GMC in southern Florida, Applied
Air/GMC in Newark, CA or perhaps even Cinnabar in Michigan.
Am thinking thouhg that the floral pront cushions might be harder to find
than the later plaids and solids used in the '75 -'78 coaches.
Good Luck. Oh, and if you tell peolpe where you are located in your
signature line, you might find parts easier.

I have a pretty nice set of Dinette cushions i might part with. Haven't decided on flip up bunk yet. You'll see in this GMC community how much pay it forward goes on when it comes to obscure parts needed.
Wilsonart 7885 English Oak or 7209 Nepal Teak is dead on and available in different finishes, 4x8 sheets from your local source. @$80. sheet here in Fla. Go get sample chips. I'm skinning a couple of IKEA cabinets with Wilsonart to replace originals.

Thanks Bert, Sean, Pete and Jim.
I will check with the suppliers and if those dinette cushions end up looking for a new home Pete I would take great care of them!
Jim what you said about laminate is pretty smart.
I would have never asked for that....thanks!

I'd really love to see a brochure showing the Royale Center Kitchen layout, if such a beast exists. I'm still not entirely certain what my coach looked like when it rolled out of the factory in '78 - I just know it was a lot different than it is now.

Did you look here under 1978 models?

Yes - I didn't see any photos of the Royale Center Kitchen model. There is a drawing, but not photos. I guess GMC and Coachmen just didn't get around to updating all their brochures, probably because the decision to pull the plug on the GMC motorhome had already been made by the time the CK Royale was released.

Mark
you can get diagrams from the GMCMI website.
http://www.gmcmi.com/models-floorplans/
There is a problem with the website. The above tab is shown under GMC History and Happy 40th Anniversary..
Obviously this has to be changed by Kim Weeks our Internet manager as it has nothing to do with the 40th anniversary.
Under the tab it shows tabs 26' floorplans and 23' floorplans. The 23' floorplans title has to be changed because it also includes Coachmen 23' models and their 26' Royale models.
The information on the 26' Royale model you want is under the 23' floorplans section.

Emery, thanks, but I'm hoping to find a brochure that has photos of the original interior. I've got drawings galore (plus the real thing...) but would get a kick out of seeing what my coach looked like 35 years ago.

I have original Painted Desert curtains in very decent shape, would like to see them go to a good home, to anyone for the cost of shipping.
Bill
