I tried one of the yellow LOUD flashers but still couldn't hear when the motor was running so I was doing the old man driving down the road with my blinker on for hours bit. Probably pretty annoying to those behind me especially since my LED taillights will nearly blind you anyway. Laughing

Rob Meuller had some sort of Radio Shark beeper wired into his and I liked it a lot so I went looking for solutions.

I found these folks at http://turnalarm.com/]

Because I have a mixture of LEDs and regular bulbs, I ordered # 262 at the suggestion of the owner. Got it from California in two days and BOY does it work!. I may actually need to tone it down a bit. Takes about a minute to install in the same socket as your regular flasher (by the steering column reach under the dash)

Not dirt cheap at $35 but well worth it imo.

Kerry,

I have been using and installing Son-alerts by Mallory on cars since the 1960's. I even have one on my airplane to tell me when I leave the master switch on without the engine running.

These also work well for headlight alarms.

You can get them at different frequencies if necessary and they only draw 5 ma or less.

Here is one on ebay:

http://compare.ebay.com/like/320758416851?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Piezo-Alarm-Sonalert-SNP428F-Sound-Generator-NEW-Ships-USA-/320758416851#vi-content

If you choose to install one on the headlights, attach it between the tail light fuse and the ignition fuse. Then it will only beep when the ignition is off and the headlights or parking lights are on.

Of course the turn signal one goes across the turn signal flasher.

Ken,

I keep a box of them around.

But, do you know if the turn Sonalert will still work when I put in the LED signal bulbs?

That may happen this week.

I believe the Sonalert takes about 3 ma. at almost any DC voltage to run. I would think your LED bulbs would provide more than that. My best answer is you would have to try it. It only takes a few minutes to hook one up.

I had one of these contraptions built into the turn signal flasher relay when I bought the coach. Ear piercing high-pitched scream when turn signals on.

It was the first thing to go, that's how I found out it was the flasher relay as well...
