I'm in need of a Tilton starter # 54-0016. It is for a 6.2/6.5 diesel.
If you have one, let me know.
Thanks,Hal

Have you looked at the powermaster 9052 ?

It is similar to the Tilton and is easily obtainable.

The Tilton 54-0016 appears to be a discontinued unit.

I was able to find the nose adapter for the (54-0016) starter and ordered what is supposed to be the right starter (according to Tilton) to mate it with to make up a 54-0016 starter.
I looked at the Powermaster but wasn't sure it would clear everything.
I should know shortly, when I get everything, if it works. If it doesn't, I'll be looking at the 9052.
Thanks for the input, Hal

while digging around on the web, i came across a discussion on converting an old revcon to a 6.2D. The fella mentioned that the powermaster Diesel starter cleared the RH CV axle, but the original 6.2 starter did not.

I got the starter and adapter and it fits fine although there is no provision for the end support. I'll have to do a little research to see if it's ok to run without it. I know they tend to break starter bolts or blocks without the brace on a stock starter. If that Powermaster works it would be a cheaper way to go for sure.
