Got the pieces needed to assemble a new drag link.
Parts list:
Moog ES3122R; 4.44", large taper 0.771", 7/8-18 rod thread, 5/8-18 stud thread
Moog ES3123L; 10.75", small taper 0.682", 7/8-18 rod thread, 5/8-18 stud thread
7" adjusting sleeve and jam nuts: custom made sleeve by OffRoad Design; http://offroaddesign.com/

Costing wasn't bad at all:
~$63 for both tie rods w/shipping
~$70 w/shipping for adjusting sleeve and jam nuts

Total cost approached the Golby drag link price w/o shipping ($170), but when a tie rod wears out down the road, all I have to replace is the one part, not the entire link.

The new tie rods appear to be heavier duty than the old. The adjusting sleeve (weakest link) is very heavy duty compared to the standard clamped adjuster. Old drag link was adjustable, so not original.

Pic showing both drag link assemblies:

Jeff,
Good find on putting together a drag link out of parts. I do see one issue that you may have is that you have very little adjustment to make it shorter if necessary. You may need to make the adjusting sleeve shorter to give you more threads or purchase a shorter adjustment sleeve.

I would also help if you could repost your pictures to the GMC Photo site.

<http://www.gmcmhphotos.com>

Having them on a commercial photo hosting site has been death to GMC pictures. We have been thru it twice when sites closed down overnite and we lost our picture data bases. That is why we have our own photo site that is GMC Controlled and funded by us.

I did the calculations prior to having the parts in-hand. The 7" sleeve gave me 1.5" of thread depth for each rod, the jam nuts were a bit thicker than I anticipated. There is some adjustment to shorten the link. I wanted the maximum thread depth for link strength.

I'll get a photo album started and get the pics uploaded to the site.

Jeff,
Was there a part number for the sleeve and nuts from OffRoad Design?

No, I talked to their engineer, Chris, to set up the specs.

The cheapest price I found when searching online or calling suppliers was Golby's for $170. I don't know about Dave's. Doing it myself and knowing the part numbers will allow replacement of individual components in the future vs buying the entire, spendy link.

I would probably choose different tie rods if doing it again, the large taper is a little on the large side, but better larger than too small is the advice I got. Had to trim the castle nut down a bit to get the cotter pin through.

Offroad Design can make an adjustment sleeve to suit, so you can use the tie rods you choose, even if L/R have different size/pitch threads. NAPA was very helpful finding suitable tie rods based on small/large taper sizes from their books (based on measuring the old parts' small/large taper diameters). Guys at the chain stores were no help at all; sad but they're usually nothing more than mouse-clickers these days.

Elgin and Moog both have nice websites with lots of info to find suitable components.

According to the Internet
http://www.bdub.net/lenzi/#AdjustableDragLink
Lenzi's new ones are $176 but he will convert you non adjustable one to an adjustable one for $88.
