As many of you know, Hammond roof fans/vents were used in the front and
rear of the GMC when they came out of the factory.

Many people have replaced these roof fans/vents with other brands.

My question is:
Has anyone actually installed a Hammond roof fan/vent in the bathroom
ceiling (wet bath) and if they did how did they do it? I know how to cut
the hole, what I don't know is how to fill the 1 1/2 gap between the bottom
of the fan body and the top of the bath module ??

This was a common procedure I "thought" prior to Scott Nehoda's
introduction of the Fantastic fan to the GMC community. Perhaps I was
mistaken and it was just a case of Hot Air !!

If you have 'personal' experience, would you let me know?

Thank you

Mike,

It's been almost 30 years, but as I recall: I went to the hardware and
bought
a piece of 1/8"x whatever I needed to fill the gap. Bent it to the shape of
the Hammond and had it tigged on. Been there ever since.
In all honesty, if you have six Skydomes with good lids, you should carry
them to a GMCMH gathering and sell them. Those lids are scarce as
chicken teeth. Take the proceeds from that sale and buy a new vent, like
a Maxx-Aire and a gold Rolls Royce. (Those things are really scarce)

Are you saying chickens in Ohio don't have teeth? Interesting... <g>

I didn't say 'all' my vents have good tops so I think that Rolls may have
to wait. Thanks for your input, it helps! I'm getting a few ideas
myself and and will try a couple of things later today ...

Tks again
