Netters
I am wondering how others have put an original roof vent with fan in the
bathroom of their GMC.
I removed my round fan and measurements tell me that it's 2 1/2 between the
roof and the top of the shower stall, while I can only see 1 1/2 inches
available on the original vent.
There are 2 crank handles and a fan switch that have to be taken into
consideration.....
So how did they do it???
I'm trying to use up some surplus parts...and roof fans is one to the
surplus areas.
Thanks

Thanks Todd, but I have 6 fans and am trying to use something of what I
have.
This install has been done in the past, I'm just not sure what people did
to deal with the differences (gap).

I replaced my original fan on the main cabin with a Fantastic Fan and moved the original to the bath. On my '77 Kingsley it fit very nicely - had to check, check, double check before cutting but I'm happy with the result. The extra light is most welcome.

Mine is a wet bath and trying to get one of my Hammond vents in there.

Bill
Did you have a 2 1/2" gap between your roof and the shower stall top? How
did you fill that and still be able to raise and lower the vent?
The "inside" part of the Hammond only hangs 1 1/2" into the interiour.
Help...<g>
Thanks

Dan stories are always good!
I'd second the idea of putting a vent in the bath. My Fantastic Fan makes such a difference in the appearance of the bath module that I can't imagine it without the larger opening anymore.
If the original Hammond vent can't be mounted, a bunch of other standard RV vents should work and not be budget breakers.

Mike,
Sorry, it was so long ago I don't remember if it was an issue and, if so, what I did about it. could be that the ceiling panel flexed enough to not have it be an issue. As I recall the screws holding the screen just screw into the ceiling panel.
Lots of other GMCers have made this same switch and, hopefully, they will chime in here.
