Hi all,
I have a "brown" wire that is attached to the external gauge on the propane tank. Followed it about 4 feet and it is not connected to anything at the other end.... mmmmh...
In that I have removed all the "house" wiring including the bank of gauges I now need to come up with a new propane gauge to replace the discarded one. Is there such an animal? And does the "brown" wire to be connected? The tank has a good ground to the frame.
Any help would be usefull.

First Question, do you have the Maintenance manual and wiring drawings for your coach? If not go to:

Download the X7425 Maintenance Manual
Download the 1973 12v DC Living Area wiring diagram
Download the 1973 12v DC Engine Area wiring diagram
The wiring diagrams will enlarge with adobe.
To your question I have to ask if you still have the factory Monitor panel in your coach? That is where the brown wire is supposed to go to on pin "H". The external gauge is the sender. It resistive device and may still be OK. The sender is a 0-90 ohm unit and should still be available from most large LP suppliers that also do service it you do not have one still on the tank that works. Do not hitch any 12 VDC power directly to it. That would be bad.
