G'day,

Easy drive today from New Iberia, LA to New Orleans, LA; no technical problems, however, we did have an accident. Just before we got
off I-10 to go to the French Quarter RV Park (FQRVP) a guy came past us with a lawnmower handle sticking out of his rear passenger
window and smacked the driver side Ramco mirror. It broke the lower convex portion. He kept driving and I had to pull up next to him
to tell him he had hit my mirror. I got his details and he said he would pay to repair the mirror. I called JimK and he's getting a
mirror sent to ChuckB's place.

This is the second time we've stayed at the FQRVP and it is a REALLY nice place to stay. It's a 10-15 minute walk up to Bourbon
Street. Last time we were here we sampled the local fare at a restaurant called Remolade so we went back. We were EXTREMELY
disappointed this time. For drinks I ordered a Bloody Mary and Helen a glass of Pinot Grigio. I ordered File Gumbo and Jambalaya:
Helen ordered Seafood Gumbo, crawfish pie, and seafood jambalaya. I couldn't taste the Vodka in the BM and Helen noted the PG was
very average. The "bowl" of soup turned out to be less than a cup in volume. And we reckon they forgot the chicken and sausage in
the Jambalaya. As I ate I found only a couple tiny pieces of chicken and sausage and about 6 what I call popcorn shrimp. Helen did
find some crawfish in her pie though. There was LOTS of rice. We won't be going back as the meal set us back $55.00 with a tip.

We've been here a number of times so we've seen most of the sights, however, this is our first trip post Katrina and it will be
interesting to see what it looks like since that disaster.

Laissez les bons temps rouler,
Rob M.

Rob,

Ada and I are planning to head for NO after the Branson. She has us booked into Ponchartrain Landing RV Park for a few nights.
She used to work for the power utility there in NO and we'll seeing some of her old friends.

See ya.

Rob,
Kay and I went to New Orleans last trip to the US and there was some sought of music festival on and there were 'beautifull people' everywhere. I don't think I would go down Bourbon street at night as we were there during the day and most were pissed out of there brains so much so there was a couple being very suggestive on the side walk which I thought was good for a laugh but Kay thought otherwise. The motel we were staying at wanted double for the Saturday night of the festival so we moved on 25 miles to the next town. We actually lost our car which was parked in the casino car park, they have 2 car park buildings that look exactlly the same and ofcourse we were in the wrong one on returning, we finally realzed and eventually found it.

I am with you Peter. Saw all I wanted to see there back in 74 while stationed @ Keesler AFB.

Rob,

Looks like we'll hook up in Branson. I agree that NO would have been a cool place to meet though.

I went to college in Monroe, LA in the late sixties and was in NO at least once a month. Loved the place.

Rob,

We enjoyed you & Helen's visit tremendously. Y'all are a great couple. We tried to absorb as much information as possible from you. Thanks for setting us on the right path to take as to the things we need to do to the motorhome & the information you gave us about our purchase.

We really appreciate your time & effort & look forward to seeing you in Branson.
