Hello all,

I have a 76 elegance II with the factory URA501 "trailer wiring harness" There is a blue wire with the standard yellow, green, brown and white wire in the harness under the left rear tail light. I have identified the standard 4 wires and assume the blue wire is for a brake controller but can't find where is comes out up front/under the dash.

So here is the question, is it a brake controller wire and where does it come out?

Thanks everyone

Todd

PS it is not on the wiring diagram.

Looks like the blue wire is for brakes.

The wire comes from under the dash. It can be used as a
brake control wire.

A good reference for the origin of the wire:

I was never able to find my blue wire under the dash. But it is running up from trailer light plug, to rear lights.

after searching under dash. and without tearing apart rear tail lights to see if it left there, I ended up just running a new wire from the brake controller back.

I also wanted a little more gauge wire too for that distance.

On mine the blue wire was behind the driver's side panel near the front
top.

Gene,

The credit really goes to you and those that post the pictures.

The gage of that wire is marginal for an electric controller. I would run a new one.
