Looking at the lower right hand corner of image IMG-03991, what is the rectangular box's function? Mine is not connected to anything, has three power transistors mounted on the heat sink, and two cables that are not connected.
I suspect that is a power amplifier for an installed Stereo radio.
Any big deal if I remove it? Perfect place to install a Raspberry Pi system.

GMC called it the "convector" and it is part of the factory
radio. PROBABLY a power amp, but I never investigated.

Thanks, out it goes. This is what I expected it was, but you never know. Years ago, I build a Delta (brand name) electronic ignition, and it was of similar size and external appearance. Tom, MS II

Tom,
Pull it out, but don't throw it out.
Those geranium doorknobs are worthless, but it is a good heat sink.

Matt - Using a Delta MK10 right now. In Marquette for the night.
