Here are some ideas of things to see and do as you journey to and from
Branson. Can you add to this list?
1 -- from southwest, Crystal Bridges is impressive for its architecture,
American art museum, and grounds. Well worth a half day. Bentonville,
Arkansas (60 miles south of Joplin, MO). Also of interest, Walmart
museum. Www.crystalbridges.com
2 -- from southwest, Roaring River State Park. Great trout fishing. 40
miles from Bentonville, AR.
3 -- from southwest, Eureka Springs, Arkansas
4 -- from east or northeast Bo's Hollow, open Fri and Sat. 10-4. Check
their website, www.bohollow.com. This is a family run model T restoration
business and 1930's village re creation. $5 entrance fee buys a wooden
nickle which you can exchange for BBQ lunch, model T ride , or ? $10 to
tour the restoration barn, by prior arrangement. Camping at nearby state
park. Salem, MO
4 -- from east, Little House on The Prairie homestead and museum in
Mansfield MO . Camping across the street. Www.lauraingalswilderhome.com
Also, stop at the drug store fountain in nearby Ava for a 5 cent ice cream
cone and soda for a dime (just off the square).
5 -- from east or northeast, gardeners may want to check out Baker Creek
Heirloom Seeds
http://www.rareseeds.com/get-to-know-baker-creek/our-village/ About 10
miles from Mansfield, MO.
6 -- from north (or east and west) the ORIGINAL Bass Pro Shop.
Springfield, MO. Possibly an overnight stop, but call first. About 1 hour
north of rally location.
7 -- from anywhere, there are 7 COE campgrounds on Tablerock Lake,
one of which is really close to Branson. So if you are arriving early or
can stay afterwards for a few extra shows, these are a bargain -- $7 - $9
with the old foggie pass.
8 -- 10 miles from Branson and worth a visit -- School of The Ozarks,
sometimes referred to as Hard Work U. www.cofo.edu/ (Hollister MO)
Now, what can YOU add to this list.
