We have used Progressive for both our coaches. Only once in 11 years did we need a tow for the Royale and they did it without question. Because of a fluke failure of a $.50 transmission part (probably would never happen again for anyone) we needed a 200 mile tow for the Clasco to Manny's. Whomever Progressive contracts with (they all contract with outsource companies, so you are never dealing with your own insurance company) first said they could find someone local who was qualified. I asked them to ask the company saying they were qualified how many GMC 425 transmissions (only used on the GMC motorhome) they had removed, rebuilt and replaced in the last decade. After about an hour Progressive called back to say no one had and they also looked up and found there are only 8000 of these things still on the road. Without further questioning they dispatched a 40 trailer which hauled us 200 miles to the bottom of Manny's hill. He drove the coach up the hill with the transmi
ssion clattering to beat the band. It made it, he changed out the trans and we were on our way.

I think the most important thing when dealing with these outsource companies is to remember that the person on the other end of the line is a human being, too. They are trying to walk the fine line between saving money for their employer and keeping the insurance company and it's clients happy enough to renew the outsource contract next year. The easier you make it for them to reach the decision you want, the better off everyone is, and the more likely they will move towards the keeping the insurance company and it's clients happy side of the fine line. Yelling or questioning their parentage will push them towards the save money for their employer side of the fine line. How you work with them will have way more to do with the outcome than anything published in the policy language. My experience, anyway.

During past surveys of road side assistance/towing insurance companies, only Coach Net did not get any bad experience reports. Progressive was second best.
